Welcome to Room 16's blog for 2016. We are a fantastic class of stunning year 3 learners and our kaiako is Whaea Tearani.
Rooms 16 and 20 are having our annual Xmas Decoration making. This year Room 21 joined us. This is a fabulous opportunity for us to get together and practise the skills of sharing, leading, and supporting each other, both teachers and children, not to mention consolidating our key competencies.
This afternoon Rooms 16 and 20 had an afternoon of inquiry learning together. We made Stick Insects and carried on with our camouflage pictures.
We are off to visit the animals! The children of Rooms 8 and 16 are definately excited - the talking and noise in the bus proves this. Personally I am looking forward to being up close and personal with the Giraffe and maybe lunch with the elephants! A wonderful day ahead!
Kevin from Auckland Badminton will be teaching us about how to play badminton.
We learnt about how to hold the racket and shuttlecock.
Kevin showed us some trick shots that we could practice.

Today the Middle Syndicate held their Trash to Fashion Parade. All Middle School Classes have been making their entries over the last week.
Over the last few days we have been making our costumes. We have a dazzling array of costumes. Some of us have started many times over, cut out patterns to find they don't fit and even stapled our fingers to the costumes.
First we listened to a story Sausages.
The6y told us that stories are everywhere in a Library.
We were shown the Auckland Libraries Website.
We had a readers theatre around a Kakariki story where 2 children and Mr Tucker acted out some scenes. Then more children acted out another story.
This is our last assembly for the term.
Mrs Driver gave out cups to the speech winners.
Rajeev and Lily got certificates for placing in the Auckland Regional Gymnastic Competitions - Kapai you both.
Well done to Lauren - Winner of the Huff N Puff Prize Draw.
Also well done to Max for being awarded this week's Principals Certificate for trying really hard in mathematics both in class and with Mrs Madden.
